Arrival/Dismissal

  Dear Parents:   Please be aware that we require your assistance and cooperation in maintaining a calm and safe environment during Drop Off and Pick Up times at Dr. Harry L. Halliwell Memorial School. It is essential that safety rules be followed at all times. Never pass buses displaying stop signs and/or flashing lights. Please allow passing buses to exit the school campus before proceeding in their path. For the safety of all students, please review and follow the steps below:  
  1. Drive slowly and carefully into and out of the Pick Up/Drop Off Lot
  2. Attentively watch for children walking to and from the parking lot and walkway
  3. Pull carefully into the drop off slots so children do not have to cross the parking lot
  4. As stated in our handbook, children must be dropped off at the school no earlier than 8:00 a.m.  There is no available supervision of children until 8:00 a.m.
  5. When picking up your child, we ask for your patience in following our school procedure for the safety of all our students: 
    1. Students remain in Building 10 behind school personnel
    2. Parent, Guardian, or Approved Individual initials our pick up list next to the name of the student being dismissed (if school personnel are not familiar with your family, you may be asked for identification)
    3. Student is released to that approved individual
    4. Following this procedure will take a few minutes of your time but it is designed for the safety and security of all children attending our school
